Last week Emery and I went to a neighborhood park that Sean found. It was so beautiful! We had a great time. And I took my good camera and got some great shots! Enjoy!

It's all about Emery!
Emery's new thing is to spin. She will spin and spin and spin and then stop and stare... she's experiencing being dizzy! And then she laughs! lol It's so cute! She loves the new pad cuz she can run and play and has more freedom than in our last house. We are all more relaxed with the carpet and no stairs. :) She loves playing with her train her uncle and auntie gave her for Christmas last year. She pushes it all around and loves to throw all the blocks out and across the room, and then puts them back. We are working on putting things away that she makes a mess of. lol She's really good at cleaning up. The other day, she spit out her cucumber on the carpet. I told her "we don't spit our food out on the floor" and asked her to pick up the pieces and put them in my hand. She did it! I was very proud of her for that. We are working on her NOT throwing her food off her tray table when she's done. Now, most of the time, she will push the bowl away from her and sign "all done". Or if she's eating yogurt, she puts down her spoon and closes the lid. Yeah! Progress! lol Her other new thing is putting all her books and animals in a tall basket I have in her room. I put it there to store her toys. But she will take all the books off her bookshelf and I will find them all in the basket! Also, if anything is missing, we have to look in our kitchen trash can because she likes to throw things in there.... toys, my flip flops, Sean's kermie.... that's a big 'no' and I am working with her on that. But I can't help but laugh when she's not looking.
We just started time-outs. I'm really not sure what I'm doing, but I realized as I do them more when the occasion arises, she will figure out it is a consequence to her bad action. I did a timeout for the third time today. I will usually sit her in the corner of the hallway, facing the corner, and sit behind her to make sure she doesn't get up, for one minute. Well today, she got mad at me for something and bent over, looked at me, and with both hands, pinched my leg really hard. It shocked me, and I told her no and slapped her hand (still not sure about what this teaches her... but she needs that immediate discipline) and took her to a timeout. She immediately started crying when I did that and continued to cry, although didn't move, the whole one minute. It was the hardest one yet, because usually she plays and talks, but this time she was balling. I wanted so bad to comfort her, but I knew I couldn't. At one minute, I stood her up and turned her around. She had the most sad and "I'm sorry" kind of face. I talked to her about it and she looked at me, seeming to listen, the whole time. I'm trying to teach her sorry and what it means. But for now, I talked to her and then gave her love. And off we went to play. I really think it was a successful time out. She seemed to understand that there IS a consequence for her actions. But, Man!, it was so hard for me! broke my heart...
She is still not saying many words... she says mama, dada, cheese and duck (I think I've posted about that before), but still no others. Sometimes I worry about this, but then again, lately she has been "talking" a lot more than ever. She is definitely trying to talk and speak sentences. So I know its there. Before we know, she will be talking a mile a minute! So, I won't worry about it. The effort is there, it is just a matter of figuring out the words and making its way off her tongue. :) She loves talking... to us, on her phone, to the cars driving by. It's so precious.
Sean started a routine of taking her out on the balcony in the mornings when I work. So I started doing it too and we'll all go out together when we are both home. It's so fun! And right now, the mornings are so nice and cool. She will point out all the birds flying by, wave to all the cars as they head off to work and talk, talk, talk. And it's a little bit of cuddle time too. :)
Her little personality is really coming out more and more everyday. She is constantly cracking us up! She loves to laugh and dance... She is so much fun! I'm always stopping and just staring at her in awe of the path God has brought us on over the last 12 years! Such faithfulness... so much love He bestows on His children. His love is never failing! Great is HIS faithfulness!

Hi Ho! Hi Ho! It's back to work we go!!!
It's been a while since I posted, but there is good reason for that. :) For one, I started work last week. Orientation actually. So there wasn't really much to talk about. And second, I started work last week, so I had no time. lol But orientation is over and I started actual work in the OR yesterday. But before I get to that, let me back up and let you know what's been going on with the Noble's.
I ended my last post with our morning out a couple saturdays ago. Well we went to church that evening and then went back to church Sunday night for a service called the Presbytery. It is a time of prophetic ministry. It was really cool. A couple days later, Sean and I finally talked about the service. I asked him if the Lord spoke anything to him and he said no, not really.... but two things did stand out to him. As he told me both, I just laughed because the Lord spoke to me about the same two things, specifically. He didn't believe me at first but then I read to him something I wrote in my phone regarding it. It was pretty cool. God is good!
Monday I started work, 8-5, everyday for a week! Although it was really hard getting up every morning, it was very nice to finally get out of the house and be 'off of vacation', so to speak, and back to real life. As for Sean, he was slightly dreading the week as a full time dad. Now don't misunderstand this. He LOVES being with Emery. However, like most men, he is not made to do that job. The first night I came home to find him drained. After that I prayed for him every day and he had a way better mindset the rest of the week. His spirits were up and he was enjoying, for the most part, his time with his baby. As for me, I met the girl I sat next to in orientation. Her name is Bernadette, and she is from Nigeria. We became fast friends and hung out all week. She was hilarious! We laughed ourselves silly! It made for a much more fun week! I also met two other girls who just moved from Cali. One 2 weeks ago, also and the other in June. Of course, we all work in different departments and different shifts, so I'm sure it will be rare that our paths will cross. But God willing....
Saturday, we headed out early in the morning on our first sight seeing day. We first headed to my hospital and I showed Sean around. I got starbucks and then headed out to the Labrinth, which is a prayer garden that winds its way around to the center. They explain that as you go in, you lay your burdens and prayers down, contemplate at the fountains in the center and then as you walk out, you walk out leaving those cares behind. It is beautiful. They really have such a wonderful chaplain program at Cook. I was really impressed when they came to talk to us in orientation. Then we headed downtown Fort Worth to the Water Gardens. Sean heard about them and wanted to check it out. It was awesome! We walked around to each water feature. I think there were four. While it was not that hot of a day, it was horribly humid. I think it was the first, truly humid day we've had since we've been here. 61% and 88-90 deg. I literally had sweat pouring down my face, back, arms, legs, on and on. But we just kept going and enjoyed our time there. Its weird... I really thought I would be more disgusted with it, causing me to be irritable and cranky. But it really didn't bother me at all. It just is what it is and you go with it. We had a great day together, until.... we got home, put Emery down, and tried to sleep. She wouldn't let us. Sean let me sleep a little longer but we were both wasted! We went to church that night with Emery only having one 30 minute nap. But she was great!
Well... with a severely humid day comes, I'm learning, a big storm!!! This is how it seems to go... humidity ----> big storm, thunder, lightning, rain ----> humidity clears. So its really not that bad. So after a humid, hot day, we went to church that night and came out to a torrential downpour! It was crazy! And here I am in a very springy top, skirt and very tall wedges! All the guys were running out to the cars and pulling them up while all the women and children waited outside under the overhang. It was pretty funny. It rained like that for 20 of the 30 min drive home. Sean could barely see. If it wasn't for it getting dark and Emery hungry and getting cranky, he would have pulled over and waited it out. But as we got closer home, it lightened up a little. We got home safe and sound.
Sunday, we relaxed in the morning and then headed over to Luke and Kathy's for a movie day with them and the Caughrans, both our friends who moved from Fresno. We had lunch and then the girls watched the long version of Pride and Prejudice and the guys (and the Carlson daughters) went upstairs to the media room to watch The Lord of the Rings trilogy. We both got through half of the movies. We plan to continue them next Sunday! :) Then we had pizza for dinner and some more movies and home around 9pm. It was a long, but very fun day!
Monday, I started work. It was a very pleasant and easy day. I worked in Urology. While most things are very familiar, there are some major differences as well. First of all, the circulating nurse doesn't do much. The Anesthesia MD starts the IV, the Nurse Anesthetist runs the IV lines, they do paper charting.... basically the Circ RN orders meds from pharmacy for the day and then does not much else (for typical cases) except bring the patient in, chart, go-fer, and take patient to PACU. I'm sure I'll see more as the days go on, but that was the gist of what I got out of it. The RN goes straight from PACU to Day Surgery and picks up the next kid and everything is ready for her when she arrives with the patient to the OR room. It's crazy! 5 min turn around! (that will only mean something to those that have worked in the OR... lol) But overall, I had a fun day. My preceptor is great and super nice! Everyone was very welcoming. But despite the easy day, I was drained by the time I got home and started to relax. I could hardly stay awake. lol
Today (yeah! we caught up!), I met up with my friend, Kathy at her house and we packed up our coffee (on a budget!) and she and her oldest daughter, Brianna, took us to the Galleria Mall in Dallas. It was a lot of fun. Though we did do a little bit of shopping, it was mainly lazily walking and talking through the 4 story mall (with an ice skating rink!!!). We had a great time. We headed back to her house, ate lunch and I put Emery down for a nap. We watched Monte Carlo, a cute teenage movie, and relaxed while it continued to rain outside (only in the 70's today!!!!). They finally both had to leave for an appt and Emery was still sleeping, so I hung out and finished the movie. Emery woke up just after they returned in which we then headed home (around 4:00). It was a lot of fun. It's so much easier to relax at someone else's house since you have no responsibilities there! lol Emery and I came home, ate dinner, bathed, and went to bed (well, she did... at 6:50.... to only have fallen asleep a little while ago around 8:20!!! she was hilariously playing in her crib! ugh... silly girl) Today is Sean's first day of work and is working the closing shift. So it is a quiet evening at home alone. And I'll be heading to bed very soon. 5am come way too early! We are doing great! Continuing to work through little issues of marital bliss (hehe), communication, parenting and the like. But it's been a really good thing. We really feel like a solid unit for once. Not so pulled in so many directions. The Lord is really doing a work! Praise God for how much He loves us and takes time with us!

This one was crazy cool! It was so loud when you got down in there... we took turns :)
The Quiet Water Garden... very peaceful. All the surrounding walls had water running down them.

Pressing on....
So here are just a few pictures. I attempted to take a video tour but it was 8 min long and blogger wouldn't upload it. :( I'll try again. So I took a pic of the family/dining room but I didn't pick up first. So here is our messy house....
Our messy house....
Emery eating in the kitchen so as not to eat on the carpet :)
That's the door to the back balcony which has a view to the south... wild terrain, a railroad track (that thankfully is quiet), and in the coming months the new expansion of the complex (just around the corner of the next building is a view of downtown Fort Worth). But hopefully by the time our view is obstructed, we will move to a house!
I took my coffee out here this morning and forced myself to have some quiet time with the Lord. It's sad that I have to pray that He will teach me all over again HOW to pray and read His Word. So today I started in 1 Thess (just because) and used the prayer time to simply praise HIm. That's always the best way to start. I am now finding myself wanting to sit back down again before church tonight and read some more. Yeah! I'm really looking forward to church and then tomorrow night we are going to a Prophetic service with our friends, that Gateway holds once a year. I want my heart to be ready for whatever the Lord may have for me.
The Dining Room (with bay windows)
Emery's room! (I've always wanted bay windows in her room! So awesome!
And it's so much bigger than her old room)
I hung a few pics and gifts up finally, after 18 months!
Below are pics from my drive to work on Wed. I had to go in for my drug screening and to get my badge. The night before, I woke up at midnight, and I just knew that my appt was earlier than what I thought. But I had it down as 11:30 and had no other record saying otherwise. So I pulled into the parking lot at 11:15 as my phone rang. It was Melissa with Human Resources saying I didn't show up at 9:30. I KNEW IT!!!! I apologized profusely and then again to the girls in the lab and again to JoAnn, who I stood up at 9:30, who I was meeting. They all were so kind and understanding. Not a bit of a guilt trip. Whew! All went well and I was on my way after only 30 min. So I headed south to find the Trader Joe's (Yippeeeeeee!!!!) It was the nicest, and biggest, one I"ve ever been to! I loaded up on all my favorites and drove the 30min trip back home (next time I'll take a cooler!)
The start of my drive to work
Downtown Fort Worth from the freeway
Coming into downtown (not the prettiest view, I'm sure)
My hospital! (not the greatest shot... overexposed)
Our friends, Steve and Tyrannie and their 5 kids, came over about a half hour after I got home. We gave them the quick tour, I made them all lattes, the younger girls played with Emery in her bedroom, and we sat around and chatted. This was the first chance we've had to get together with them since we arrived. It was a fun time. Can't wait to hang out more!
Well, today is Saturday, and honestly, the last two days were a little difficult for me. It wasn't anything major, but just a feeling. That all has changed. That all I've known and everyone I've known is not here anymore. That after this vacation ends tomorrow, we're not going home. You know those times, when you don't even have to be consciously thinking about it, but that you are just feeling a little 'off'. Maybe more irritable, tired, melancholy. Then you realize that reality is setting in. It's not a bad thing. I knew it would happen. It has to. It's part of letting go of what is behind (although never forgetting) and looking toward what is ahead. Pressing on for the prize.... for all God has for us. But I don't think he ever said it would be easy. I knew this was going into it, I know it now. The thing I fear the most, is the impending pain, that has the potential of breaking your heart, when you have to face the grief of not having your closest friends and family with you anymore. Yes, we can text and facebook and call and even see each other through skype. But for me, the human touch cannot be replaced by anything. To not be able to hug my best friend or even just sit next to my girlfriends and watch TV, is, at most, excruciating to imagine. So, my prayer the other night, was this... "Lord, be my friend, be all that I need, equip me for all the grief that I may face. Fill me to overflowing with joy and peace. Fill the gaping hole that is now left within me, with the only thing I need, Your Holy Spirit. Draw me to you at this time. And when I am ready, lead me to the friends that YOU have for me. The ones that not only do I need, but that maybe need me as well. Let Your will be done in and thru me."
We went to Southlake Town Center (outdoor shopping center) on Friday and ate lunch at the
Corner Bakery Cafe. Although not very relaxing, yet so yum!
Today is a better day. A much better day. My heart is light. (I almost forgot, we prayed together for the first time last night... no wonder my day was so good!) Like I said, I started my day out right with time with Jesus. Then I mentioned going on a walk with Sean and exploring the surrounding neighborhoods (beautiful houses!). At first, he didn't want to because he was sore from going to the gym last night. But then he said okay. And so off we went for a 1.5 mile walk and then took Emery to play on the grass by the pool. We saw that there was nobody there, so we came home and changed and went back for some swimming. It was so fun! I think this was the first true day that we did something as a family and we weren't stressed. We had a great time! We were keeping Emery up so that she would take a long, early afternoon nap and wake up in time for church tonight. Hopefully, all goes well!
My first time taking Emery to the pool
Sean and I with Emery at the pool on Saturday after our walk
And I got my Texas plates! Now just need to get my Texas license!
Well, until next time......

Look Out! We're in Texas, Baby!!!! `
Well we've officially been in Texas, as a family, for 5 days! And I finally have time to catch up on my blog. The last 5 days have been very busy as Sean and I both were determined to get unpacked and settled, for our sanity, as quickly as possible. Well Thursday, I arrived to DFW airport and Sean picked me up. We immediately headed to dinner, since we were both starving. He took me to this place called Shady Oaks that he went to with our friend Steve, when he was here looking for an apt for us 2 weeks ago. It was delicious BBQ!!! So yum! After that, we headed home. :) When we got to the complex, he made me wait outside on the front porch. He went in and made sure everything was ready for us. Then he came out and lifted both Emery and I up into his arms and carried us over the threshold (is it still called that 18 1/2 years of marriage?! lol) It was awesome! He had furniture placed and left boxes in the garage so it looked nice for me. Aaaaaaawwwww..... As we have unpacked and found a place for everything and began living in our apartment, we are finding, more and more, how awesome this place is! God really did pick out a crazy cool home for us! Complete with nice carpet, crown molding, high ceilings, an entire wall of windows in the living/dining room, TWO balconies!, a huge room for Emery with bay windows, a huge walk-in closet for us, a jetted tub in the master, and tons of storage (no joke!) along with a really deep, finished garage (more storage)... that's just the big stuff... but God even thought of the little details. So cool!
Friday we spent the morning unpacking and doing odds and ends. Later in the day, we went to pick up Sean's new (used) car. Yes... this will make it 21 cars he's owned. lol A toyota Highlander. Our friend Luke set Sean up with this guy, Jeremy, who buys wholesale at auctions. Well before we left he took a picture of us with the car (check it out at www.ecarhouse.com) to put on his website. But then, what was awesome is he asked if he could pray over the car for us. We said heck yes! and he literally laid his hands on the car and prayed the most awesome prayer over the car and us. Seriously the best car transaction we've ever had!!! We then headed over to Luke and Kathy's for dinner. After dinner they came back to our place to help us unpack. We got a lot done... the whole kitchen was done! We celebrated with Blue Bell Mint and Chip Ice Cream!!! So yum!!
Saturday we pretty much unpacked. I attempted to go shopping without using my gps because I thought I knew the way, but got lost. lol I think I just didn't go far enough. I eventually found a different super target. We attended church at Gateway in Southlake with our friends, Luke and Kathy and their two girls, Brianna and Madeline that evening. It was a great service! Everyone was so active in worship... it was awesome! Luke talked us into going to church saturday night instead of sunday because he and madeline were going to the lake on the boat on sunday. It wasn't a hard decision. lol We had a great time with them. Emery loved being on the boat, although she was pretty somber when she was in her life preserver. We took turns taking her in the water. They have this huge raft thingy that you can ride on behind the boat. We got to take Emery on that. Obviously, Luke drove slow. It was so fun though! Then Madeline and I got on it and Luke went as fast as the boat would go! lol Then he started swerving back and forth making us go side to side over the wake. We caught air a couple times and unless you were hanging on (which I was... for dear life) then you would have flown off! But it was so awesome! THEN.... Sean took a turn. Well let me just say, all was going well until he got crazy and tried to surf on it. All of the sudden the front came up and he completely flipped it! It was awesome!... and yet at the same time, I was so worried he got hurt. He hit really hard. Luke kept saying he's never flipped anyone though he has tried, so it can't be done. But Sean proved him wrong. lol After a few hours on the lake, we headed home and we all took naps. It's amazing how much that takes out of you. Sunday night we finished unpacking and everything in the house had its place. Every night we've been up until 11 or 12. But now, we are done!! Yippee!!! It feels so good!
Well, we decided that on Monday, we were going to give Emery a normal day of naps and playtime. She has done pretty well overall. But we've definitely seen a change in her over the past few days. She's acting out, throwing fits more often for no good reason and crying a lot. I finally looked at Sean and said we need to get on the floor and simply spend more time with her. I know back at our house, she sensed something was off. And now, with all the unpacking, I think she's feeling left out. Today and yesterday were the worst. So today I stayed home most the day. Sean headed out to REI in Dallas to check in there and get his schedule (he starts on the 21st). She got in two good naps. After 3 days, I finally took her to the pool at 9am, but they were doing maintenance and it was closed. So we sat by the pool for a bit then headed into the clubhouse for a cup of coffee (keurig style!) and chatted with one of the office girls who gave me some pointers on places to shop. During Emery's naps, I began decorating. For 18 months all the wall hangings I had for her room sat on her floor. So that was my number one goal! And it is done! yeah! I still have one or two things, but I'm happy with it. Her room is awesome! There are three tall bay windows and so much space!! We borrowed her tall chest of drawers until we get bedroom furniture, but even if it was in there, there would still be a ton of room! It's fantastic!! After Sean came home, I got a reprieve and went shopping on my own during her second nap. I went to Bed, bath and beyond and World Market where I caught up with my friend Lisa, from back home, on the phone. I miss her voice already. I cooked my first dinner tonight as well! Pork tenderloin, asparagus and salad. Not fancy, but it was good.
And so, I'm caught up to today! It's Tuesday. And again it was a productive, yet relaxing day. I did a dry run (actually drive) to work this morning. I left my place at 6am to see what traffic would be like. It wasn't too bad. But by 7 it got backed up coming back, near the airport. I got to work in 20 min after 3 interchanges. It's crazy... feels like I'm in LA. I've never lived or worked in a city before. But it was pretty easy. The hospital is unbelievable!!! I will post pics here once I can get them off my phone. I parked in the 6 story garage and when I came out, I didn't know where I was. So since I was dressed in my exercise clothes to run, I jogged around the hospital until I found the main entrance. lol It is breathtaking. Especially at dawn. I headed inside and quickly found the full size Starbucks! Did I say FULL SIZE??!!! I saw the Camelot Cafe, the leggo arial view of the entire hospital, and the soon-to-come nail and hair salon and yogurt shop (yep! IN the hospital!). I'm so excited! I saw a few people walking the same direction in scrubs so I'm wondering if that's the direction I will be going. Anyway... I left and headed home. But I stopped just short of our complex and parked near the Cotton Belt Trail that runs along a railroad. It goes forever. But I only ran a mile. Just shaking the cobwebs from my legs and checking out the area. It was peaceful. But I was already sweatin like a pig at a warm 84 deg at 7:00 in the morning! Yikes!
Speaking of which.... the weather has been pretty bad and hot. Locals say we moved during the worst few days of the year. It was 109 when I arrived and close to that when Sean and Kevin were unloading. Today and the last couple days has been 104ish with lower humidity. I don't think we've had high humidity yet (over 50%). But honestly, it hasn't felt that bad. If you are out walking in it, in the sun, you begin to feel like you're going to melt. But today it was really cloudy so it wasn't so intense. I would say that it is truly no more uncomfortable than Fresno's heat, just a different kind of discomfort.
Sean afforded me a two hour nap today! Hallelujah! All of the sudden this afternoon my energy of the last 5 days faded. But afterward, I was up and cooking dinner! Sean fed and bathed Emery while I slept and then we put her to bed. After a simple dinner of spaghetti and salad, Sean headed out to the garage to finish up out there. And just now, as I type this, he is done!!!! My car is in the garage with about 5 feet of our stuff puzzle pieced together in front of my car. Praising God for this extra large garage! No need to pay for storage! Now I'm ready for our first storm! lol
Tomorrow I'm back to the hospital for my drug screening (no poppy seed muffins for me!) and then we're going to Steve and Tyrannie's for lunch (our other Fresno transplant friends) I will soon post more pics from my phone and also a full video of our apt once I'm done decorating! :) Good Night Y'all!!!
Our drive home... this is what many of the major roads look like... 3 lane and hilly.
But this is not even the nice area.
Our Home (that's us in the middle, 2nd floor, from the balcony on the left to the first balcony on the right)
I took a walk to the clubhouse and pool to check it out the first night I was here. I called my step dad and we talked a while as I sat by the pool. Before I knew the sun was setting. It was a beautiful Texas sunset! (the pool overlooks wild terrain, and to the left, the golfcourse)
